MIYAKOPORTRAITS

Classical Oil Portraiture

A portrait
to last a century.

Realist oil portraits painted in the classical academic tradition. Portraits, memorial portraits, pets and landscapes — each one built up carefully, layer by layer.

Featured work

“Lady by the Window”, oil on canvas, 2025

Philosophy

A photograph records a moment;
a portrait paints a lifetime.

Using classical techniques handed down since the Renaissance, thin layers of paint are built up one upon another. The luminous skin and deep shadows they create will not fade for generations. Each portrait is painted with honesty, to become part of your family's history.

Questions

FAQ

Can you paint from a single photograph?+

Yes. A photo that closely resembles the sitter works best; if you would like particular clothing, please send a photo of that too. If no suitable photo exists, I can photograph the sitter at the atelier free of charge.

How long does a commission take?+

Each work is painted with care, so please allow two to three months on average. If you are in a hurry, just ask.

Is a frame included?+

Yes, a frame is included free of charge. Please ask if you would like something special.

What if I'm not happy with the result?+

You will see the finished work before delivery, and I will make adjustments as many times as needed. Changes that differ substantially from the original order may incur an additional fee.

Can I commission from abroad?+

Yes. Consultations take place by email or online, and the finished painting is carefully packed and shipped to you.
